Bitcoin’s Popularity Surge Mirrored on Wikipedia

Recently, the surge in Bitcoin hasn’t only impacted the cryptocurrency market, but has also influenced the number of visits on Wikipedia. The views of Bitcoin’s page reached their highest level since mid-2022.

Bitcoin continues to attract attention with its recent performance. This increased interest has also led to a surge in the number of visits to the Bitcoin page on Wikipedia.

Interest in Bitcoin Peaks on Wikipedia

Since mid-2022, Bitcoin’s Wikipedia page has not seen this much interest. According to data from The Block, on October 24, the Bitcoin page was viewed a total of 13,490 times. This interest is likely associated with the rise in Bitcoin’s price and recent news about Bitcoin ETFs.

Bitcoin reached its 18-month high by exceeding $35,000, which means an appreciation of more than 25% compared to the previous month.

Uncertainty Surrounding Bitcoin ETF Approvals Continues

Another notable topic in the cryptocurrency world is the approval processes for Bitcoin ETFs. JPMorgan’s analyst team made significant statements on this matter. The team led by Nikolaos Panigirtzoglou pointed out that the timing of spot Bitcoin ETF approvals remains unclear. However, approvals for applications from Ark Invest and 21Shares are expected to take place before the deadline of January 10, 2024. This date is the nearest among the deadlines faced by the SEC for spot Bitcoin ETF applications.

This surge in Bitcoin’s price and the ETF approval processes bring significant developments for both cryptocurrency investors and the general public interested in this area. This situation was also reflected in the increase in the number of visits to the Bitcoin page on Wikipedia.
