NEAR, in an interview with CoinDesk, announced its partnership with Alibaba Cloud. The company stated that with this new partnership, it aims to accelerate Web3 growth in Asia and the Middle East by collaborating with Alibaba Cloud, which operates in the fields of computing and storage.
Furthermore, the NEAR Foundation announced that through this partnership, it will provide developers who want to launch NEAR validators with the opportunity to use Alibaba Cloud’s “plug-and-play” infrastructure. The NEAR Foundation and Alibaba Cloud, as part of the partnership announced in a press release to CoinDesk, also mentioned that they will provide remote procedure call (RPC) services to the NEAR ecosystem.
What is RPC?
RPC is a computer server that allows users to read data from blocks and send transactions to different networks. It will also provide developers with a data querying API by enabling cross-chain indexing.
“The partnership between the NEAR Foundation and Alibaba Cloud is a significant step that reflects our commitment to supporting Web3 developers in exploring opportunities.”Raymond Xiao, President of Alibaba Cloud Web3
Additionally, with this partnership, NEAR users will be able to use a platform called NEAR Blockchain Operating System (BOS), which allows interaction with other users using Alibaba Cloud’s infrastructure.
The partnership between the NEAR Foundation and Alibaba Cloud is considered a significant step. It will help the NEAR protocol reach more developers in Asia and the Middle East and contribute to the ecosystem’s development. Furthermore, the use of Alibaba Cloud’s infrastructure and services in computing and storage is expected to provide NEAR users with a better experience.
