Elon Musk is launching his own artificial intelligence robot, Grok, to compete with ChatGPT. This new initiative is powered by data from X (formerly known as Twitter), supporting Musk’s goal to transform the social media platform X into something akin to WeChat.
Grok Challenges ChatGPT
Developed under Elon Musk’s xAI initiative, Grok is set to be a formidable alternative to ChatGPT. Made available for testing to a limited group of U.S. users, Grok will have access to more up-to-date information compared to existing AI models. According to the announcement, Grok, fueled by data from X, aims to provide more knowledgeable and effective responses than its competitors reliant on static data sets.
Following a successful testing phase, Grok will be made accessible to all X Premium+ users. With the launch of Grok, users will have a new option equipped with advanced artificial intelligence technologies.
A few months ago, Elon Musk was among the signatories of a petition calling for a pause in the development of AI models. However, in his most recent statement, Musk mentioned that signing this letter was in vain.
“I signed that letter knowing it was futile. I just wanted to be on the record as recommending a pause.”
