Stock Performance on iPhone Launches
Apple often aims to excite consumers with its product launches, but that excitement doesn’t always translate into positive stock performance. According to Dow Jones Market Data, Apple’s stocks experienced a 0.2% decline on the day the new iPhone was announced. Additionally, it has been observed that on the days when iPhones are released, Apple’s stock averages a 0.4% drop.
Vision Pro Headphones Update
Before discussing the Apple Watch and new iPhones, Apple CEO Tim Cook shared updated information about the highly anticipated Vision Pro headphones. These headphones were initially introduced at the Worldwide Developers Conference in the summer. The company announced that the headphones would be released early next year with a retail price of $3,499.
Apple Watch Series 9
Apple kicked off the September 12 product launch event with the introduction of the Apple Watch Series 9. This watch will feature a new S9 Apple-designed chip. The watch boasts a battery life of up to 18 hours. Apple mentioned that Siri requests are now processed on the device, eliminating the need for an internet connection. Additionally, later this year, Apple plans to add the ability to ask Siri health-related questions in English and Mandarin.
New Apple Watch Ultra 2
As expected, Apple introduced the new high-end Apple Watch Ultra 2. Apple announced that the Ultra 2 would have the brightest display of any of the company’s watches. The Night Mode uses an ambient light sensor to adjust brightness on the screen for low-light environments.
iPhone 15 Launch
As anticipated, Apple unveiled the redesigned iPhone 15, the latest generation of the company’s smartphones. All versions of the phone will feature the Dynamic Ada feature, first introduced in the high-end versions of the iPhone 14. Dynamic Ada presents notifications in a small window at the top of the screen that rotates with the front-facing camera.
Apple announced that it would be replacing the old Lightning connector with a USB-C charging connection in the iPhone 15. Additionally, the new port will have the ability to charge other Apple devices like AirPods. Apple introduced the iPhone 15 Pro, featuring a new titanium design and replacing the old aluminum version. The new phone has a slimmer frame compared to previous versions. While the Pro has a 6.1-inch screen, the Pro Max features a 6.7-inch display.
