$57 Million Worth of Unclaimed ARB Tokens Transferred to DAO Treasury

Arbitrum DAO announced that it has added the orphaned tokens from the airdrop to its treasury. The Foundation emphasized that the airdrop process has now ended, and these tokens can no longer be claimed from anywhere.

Ethereum’s layer-2 solution, Arbitrum, conducted a significant airdrop to its community members and initial users in March. As part of the airdrop, 1.16 billion tokens, equivalent to 11.6% of Arbitrum’s total supply, were distributed as rewards to DAO members who manage the Arbitrum One and Nova networks.

Fate of the Unclaimed Tokens Revealed

At the end of the airdrop process, 69 million ARB tokens remained unclaimed. The Arbitrum Foundation announced that these unclaimed 69 million ARB tokens, valued at $57 million, have been transferred to the Arbitrum DAO treasury. The Foundation further clarified that the airdrop process has concluded, and users will no longer be able to claim these tokens from any source.

The quantity of the unclaimed Arbitrum tokens represents 0.69% of ARB’s total supply of 10 billion. According to data from Dune Analytics, 93% of eligible users claimed their tokens.

The Block reported, based on on-chain data, that the Arbitrum DAO treasury currently holds 3.6 billion ARB tokens, valued at $2.9 billion.
